She is the type to go to a restaurant based on the specials they have, go grocery shopping at a wholesale store because of the long-term savings and plan a trip six months before because it has an early bird discount. Not to say she doesn’t do a little impulse buying here and there, but where there is a discount you are sure to find Victoria.

A discount lover working for a company that is focused on discounts is like a kid in a chocolate factory! Victoria enjoys the role of helping others like her get access to discount codes that they wouldn’t have otherwise known. Also, she enjoys getting to know about the different brands and their discount distributions according to the different regions through the content-based research she does.

Victoria’s Average Workday

Victoria’s work day begins by clocking in and greeting her teammates, and it’s diving onto brand research. Her workday is categorised into three categories, that is identification of the brands she intends to work on and then a good chunk of her day is consumed by research. This part of the day involves identifying what customers would love to find out about the specific brand she’s working on and then tailoring her content to that so that customers don’t have to waste time finding what they need. Occasionally, she has short work meetings then it’s on to the last category, which is uploading and verifying her content.

Victoria’s Proudest Saving

If she had to choose it would be the vow renewal trip she managed to plan for her parents. Victoria wanted to give her parents the honeymoon they never had but between planning the ceremony and life’s demands, she was going to settle for a “less romantic” destination without activities, and only offering breakfast. With her savvy wizz skills she managed to get a flight and activity-inclusive honeymoon package that was full board at the same price,  just because she knew how to manoeuvre around discount sites. To date, she wonders if she will ever get such a bargain for herself.

Victoria’s Top Saving Tips

• Know your discount websites, if you have them narrowed down you save time, because you avoid aimless searches. This also helps you not to give up easily.
• Don’t give in too easily and when it comes to travelling wait for low-peak seasons, even for gifts.
• Save your money and plan for it, it makes it easier not to just jump on every sale you see.
• Visit the outlet sections on a website and don’t shy away from high-end pre-loved pages, that’s where the gems are, at a fraction of the original price.
• If you dread wholesale shops, go early in the morning and avoid them in the afternoon, the savings you make are worth missing a few minutes of sleep.
• Follow your favourite brands on social media, and you will be amazed at how many discounts you can get. Remember to sign up to your favourite discount sites to get collective discounts.
• When it comes to saving money you need discipline, but also you need to spoil yourself. Victoria gives herself what she calls a ‘senseless allowance’ that she uses for anything she wants.
• Get your friends on board! It’s easier to save when your circle has a similar mindset, you can have a different mindset but it’s just easier.
