Joining a new network needn’t mean learning a new number. It’s simple to transfer your old one to My EE. They will text you when the number transfer has started and you’ll receive another message when the transfer is complete.
If you submit the form before 5.30 pm on a working day, My EE will endeavour to have your number transferred the following working day.
If your request is made after 5.30 pm or made on a weekend or bank holiday, your number will take two working days to transfer.
Please allow time for them to complete your request. For example, if you submit your details at 5.25 pm this may not allow them quite enough time to complete for the following working day. However, they will do their best to transfer your number in a timely manner.
Here’s what to do when you get sent a new SIM:
* pop the SIM into your device
* activate your new SIM:
you only need to do this if you’ve upgraded and been sent a new SIM or ordered a new one because your old one no longer fitted your device
* wait for a signal and the My EE symbol to appear on your screen, this can take up to 24 hours but is usually much quicker
All devices sold by My EE are ‘locked’ to EE. This means they won’t work with another network’s SIM card. You can unlock your device after a certain amount of time, depending on your price plan and device.
To unlock your pay monthly device, you must:
* be the My EE account holder for the device
* have had the device at least six months
* have paid your bill up to date
* have not reported the device as lost or stolen
