Djokovic started playing tennis at the age of four and rose quickly. Despite the difficulties of growing up in war-torn Serbia in the 1990s, he became Europe’s top-ranked player before becoming active in 2003. He entered the Tennis Association (ATP) top 100 at age 18 and won his first ATP tournament in July 2006.
After reaching the semifinals at the French Open and Wimbledon in 2007, Djokovic reached the finals at the US Open that year. Djokovic’s streak continued until 2008, when he won his first Grand Slam, the Australian Open, and became the first Serbian to win one of the four major tennis titles.
Ons Jabeur is a Tunisian tennis player. On June 27, 2022, she reached a new high in women’s tennis and became number 2 in the world. Jabeur is currently the number one Tunisian player and the number one African and Arab tennis player in the WTA and ATP rankings.
She won four WTA Tour singles titles, as well as eleven ITF Tour singles titles and one doubles title. Jabeur became the first Muslim and Arab player (male or female) to reach the Grand Slam final by successfully competing at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2022.
Elena was born on 17 June 1999 and is a Kazakhstani tennis player. The last Wimbledon champion and the first Kazakh to win a Grand Slam. She is 4th in the world’s top 5 in women’s singles and is currently the 1st player in Kazakhstan in women’s singles.
Rybakina reached 13 more finals on the WTA Tour and won four more titles, including two WTA 1000 titles at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters and the 2023 Italian Open.
Angelique Kerber is a German professional tennis player. She has been ranked as high as world No. 1, for a total of 34 weeks, and won three major titles at the 2016 Australian Open, the 2016 US Open, and the 2018 Wimbledon Championships.
As a left-handed player, Kerber’s ranking cracked the top 5 in 2012, and she reached the world No. 1 ranking on 12 September 2016. She has won 14 career singles titles, across all surfaces, including three major titles. She has also won a silver medal in women’s singles representing Germany at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
