This is the law - anyone aged 16 or 17 must have a Guarantor if they wish to arrange a loan or other finance. The Guarantor agrees to guarantee repayment of the loan if you fail to repay it.

Just contact them asking them to cancel from a certain date (they can't backdate cancellation). If you've received an insurance certificate, simply return this to them or confirm to them that you've destroyed it. If they sent you a certificate by email, please also confirm in your note that you've destroyed every certificate you have printed. Lexham Insurance can't cancel until they receive this confirmation If a refund is due to you, they will send you a cheque (unless you give them specific instructions to do otherwise). If a loan was arranged to pay the premium, please do not cancel any direct debits as they will stop them for you when appropriate; they will send the refund to the loan company, with any surplus to you. If the refund doesn't clear the balance, one or more further direct debits may be necessary. If you've made a claim in this year of insurance, there will normally be no refund, but any amount still owing must be paid.
