Returning orders to Lightbulbs Direct is easy. Anything you buy from them can be returned within 28 days of receipt, for any reason. As long as the product is returned to them within 28 days Lightbulbs Direct will refund its full value, whether it is broken, faulty, incorrect or simply unsuitable for your needs. In cases where there is no fault and the return is based on a change of heart rather than an actual defect, the relevant products must be returned in a saleable condition and in their original packaging.
What should I do if I want to return an item?
Should you change your mind or you have ordered the wrong products, you have 28 days from the day of receipt to return products for a refund as long as they are in a resalable condition and in the original packaging. The invoice you receive with your order should be included in the returns parcel as this will be needed to complete your refund. If you paid by card then this can take up to 14 days from them receiving the goods to show on your card.

If you are returning a product which is not faulty or damaged, only not suitable, then you are liable for the delivery charge to return the item to Lightbulbs Direct. If your item has developed a fault during its warranty period, please contact Customer Service on 01494 723286 or fill out their online contact form and Lightbulbs Direct will send you a postage label so that you can send it back to them free of charge.
Damaged or incorrect item?
In the unlikely event that products arrive damaged or faulty please contact Customer Service on 01494 723286 or fill out Lightbulbs Direct's online contact form. Transit damages and shortages must be notified within 48 hours of receiving the goods.
Faulty items
Any LED light bulb bought from Lightbulbs Direct carries a 24-month warranty. Lightbulbs Direct also carry a 12 months warranty on any of their energy-saving fluorescent or compact fluorescent bulbs. For any other item that isn't an LED or energy-saving light bulb, Lightbulbs Direct currently offers no formal warranty unless this is explicitly stated in the product's description. However, they may still be willing to replace or refund certain orders depending on their individual circumstances, so it is always worth giving Lightbulbs Direct a call. For products not covered by a Lightbulbs Direct warranty (or in cases where Lightbulbs Direct's warranty has already expired), it may still be wise to contact the manufacturer directly. Some offer an extended warranty on certain products that may entitle you to a refund or replacement, even if their own warranty period has already elapsed.
After 28 Days?
Lightbulbs Direct does not accept returns for unwanted items after the returns period above.
Please note that if you return items which are outside Lightbulbs Direct's 28 days return period, or donβt meet their terms and conditions, Lightbulbs Direct will be unable to process a refund. You will be contacted and asked to make arrangements for collection of the item(s) at your own expense within 30 days of notification. Following this 30-day period, the item(s) will be disposed of in accordance with the WEEE directive.
Responsibility
Returned products are your responsibility until they reach Lightbulbs Direct, so make sure they're packed properly so they can't get damaged on the way!
As the parcel remains your responsibility until it arrives back with Lightbulbs Direct, ensure that you get proof of postage in case you need to contact them about your return. Some services offer levels of compensation in case your parcel becomes lost or damaged. Lightbulbs Direct suggests this is considered especially when returning high-value products. They're not responsible for any products that are returned to them by mistake (it happens!). If they're able to locate the products (it's not always possible) and you'd like these returned to you, Lightbulbs Direct may ask you to cover the delivery cost.
Want to exchange a product?
Unfortunately, Lightbulbs Direct is unable to offer exchanges. If you need a different cap, shape or colour simply place a new order.
Delivery charges
If an entire order is returned within the 28 day return period the full purchase price together with Lightbulbs Direct's standard delivery charge will be refunded. If you chose to pay extra for an expedited delivery service, Lightbulbs Direct will only refund the cost of standard delivery. Please note that if you want to return only some products but keep the rest of your order, you will not be entitled to a refund of the delivery charge. Delivery charges will be refunded in full in cases where the goods are faulty.
Refunds
Please be aware that Lightbulbs Direct will only process your refund once the product has been returned to them and checked by their specialist; this can take up to 14 days. Refunds can only be issued to the original payment method that was used.
When youβll get your refund depends on your payment method. It may take your payment provider up to 10 business days or longer to deposit the money into your account. Please note that if you return products which are outside Lightbulbs Direct's returns policy, or donβt meet their terms and conditions, theyβre unable to process a refund.
