Buying sale items: sale prices are marked and the sale discounts apply to those products only. A sale price of 53% off on a £100 item would leave it at £47, which beats any of the sitewide codes for that item. Sale prices can be lower than code results, but the sale discount only applies to selected products.
Multi buy and small deals: two 12.5kg seed mixes for £25 is a separate deal valid only when you add two qualifying packs; compare that bundle price to what codes would leave you for those same packs.
